Don’t you hate that Sunday evening feeling when you know the end of the weekend is nearing its end and its only so many hours until you will have to wake up at the crack of dawn for work, university or school? I do. However, I find that having something to look forward to in the early hours of that hateful morning lessens the dread on the previous evening and it puts me in a positive, proactive mood enabling me to tackle the challenges of that day.
Food is always my weakness and it is definitely a game changer when it comes to my mood. Therefore, I find that having a breakfast which you look forward to in the morning, makes me more motivated to wake up in the morning and a good, tasty breakfast always stops me from snacking! What better way to start your day than to have a strawberry milkshake which you don’t feel guilty!
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
- 1 large handful of strawberries
- 1 large ripe banana
- Cut up the banana and the strawberries and put into a blender (any blender will do!).
- Add the almond milk
- Blend until smooth!
The result is a glass full of creamy berry goodness! It’s as simple as that! If you have those browning bananas that you didn’t get round to eating at the weekend or you haven’t had time to go shopping this is a great morning shake to make! (Tip: The riper the banana the sweeter and better it is for you.) As you know, I love a sweet breakfast in the mornings and this is perfect! Additionally, it is exceptionally quick. So if you’re running late because you have overslept or simply not a breakfast person this gives you that little boost of energy needed to start your day in a positive and healthy way!
