Prague- Day 3 and 4

Good evening all,

This is my last post on my short break away to Prague!

Day 3

Today we woke up early and headed to Ujezd in Prague to visit Petrin Hill and the Observational Tower. Upon arrival we stopped for an early lunch because we were having an early dinner later on that day.

We enjoyed two large pizzas to fuel us until dinner that evening! Not very traditional, but so good! I had a plain margarita pizza, whereas, my partner had a ham and mushroom pizza with another beer of course!
I am so glad we had our lunch when we did because the Funicular Railway which is used to climb up the incredibly steep hill to the location of the Observational Tower was not working therefore we had to walk up Petrin Hill! Although, it was very pleasant and rewarding once you reached the base of the tower!

As you can see, the weather was slightly overcast however this did not detract from the beautiful scenery we witnessed from the Observational Tower!

Afterwards, we walked from the Observational Tower, through a woodland area which brought us back to St. Vitus Cathedral. This time it was open therefore we were able to have a look inside!

The stained glass windows in the Cathedral were beautiful!
Then we continued our exploring and stumbled upon the KGB Museum which is a very small museum (consisting of 2 rooms) full of weapons from the Russian secret service! The museum tour guide was very entertaining and informative showing us weapons and gadgets they used during WW2!

This was our last night in Prague therefore we thought we would make it a special one by going to the Swan Lake Ballet and then finishing off with some traditional Czech cuisine.

I had the dish below which was a Beef Goulash, the sauce was thickened by vegetables and it was accompanied by homemade bread dumplings, sour cream and cranberry! My partner had a beef goulash too with bread dumplings, onion and chilli! We both enjoyed these dishes but the bread dumplings were so filling. We struggled to eat most of it as we were stuffed!

Day 4

This was our last day of our trip. There was one last thing we still wanted to do before we left for the airport and that was visiting inside the Church of our Lady before Tyn located in Old Town Square. Unfortunately no photos were allowed to be taken but I can assure you it was absolutely gorgeous inside!

To finish off our last few hours in Prague we decided to have our last meal in the 5 star restaurant situated above the Cocktail Bar ‘Black Angels’ which we visited a few days earlier.

My partner had a burger with chips and I tried a Beef and mushroom Stroganoff.
This was a great way to end our trip. This was the sunniest day out of the four days we spent in Prague therefore we sat in the sun next to a heater and watched the world go by as we ate and drank before we made the sad journey home.

I hope you all have enjoyed my travel/ food blog of my trip abroad.

Best wishes,
